Tulip Tree

This elegant, eye-catching deciduous tree holds its own in the largest yards. The Tulip Tree, or yellow poplar tree, is named after its sunshine yellow, tulip-shaped flowers that open in late spring. A fast-growing shade tree, it has a pyramidal to conical habit and bright green leaves. Its foliage turns a glowing yellow in the fall. Native to eastern North American, the Tulip Tree is the state tree of Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. It grows to 50-80 ft. tall. Zones 4-9.
